Now that the governor has issued a stay-at-home order, you’re working out of your home. You’re also still trying to get exercise and, rather than bike around the neighborhood, you drove over to the Arkansas River Bike path this morning for a long ride. When you arrived, one of the others there said they noticed blue smoke coming out of your exhaust.

Blue or dark smoke coming out of the exhaust is a sure sign that your car is burning oil. It’s not a good sign for any vehicle, although it’s common in older cars. Cars.com adds, “When your car is leaking oil into the combustion chamber, you have a serious problem that needs to be addressed as quickly as possible. Even if you don’t notice smoke coming from your exhaust, something still is not right if your car is consuming too much oil between oil changes. While a simple tune up may be all that is needed to solve the problem, more in-depth repairs may also be required.”
