You should also doublecheck your insurance to make sure it covers any theft.

If you do become a victim of catalytic converter theft, Nerdwallet.com suggests that you call your Wichita auto care expert to find out if it’s okay to drive without a catalytic converter. If so, drive only to the auto repair center. Contact the police and file a report, call the insurance company and take photos of the damage. Consider installing an anti-theft alarm on your replacement catalytic converter.
