Trooper Jodi of the Kansas Highway Patrol explains, according to kansascity.com: “On these frosty mornings, and during inclement weather, be sure to clear ALL windows before leaving the driveway. If your windows frost or fog up while driving, stop at a safe location to clear them. It is unsafe and illegal to drive with windows obstructed.” He adds that the state holds drivers liable for damaging other vehicles caused by ice, snow, and other debris that falls onto them. A driver can be fined for violating the law.
A clean, clear windshield is a big help in keeping safe on the road. But, so is keep other parts of your vehicle clear of snow and frost.
