The final holidays of the year are here. Lots of people will be heading out on the road. Whether you’re going or staying, make sure your car is good to go.
You’re planning to go to the Thunder game this afternoon. Afterwards, you’ll pick up some dinner and then have a nice, leisurely evening setting out plans for the upcoming holiday season. If you’re like millions of others across the U.S., some of those plans are likely to include one or more road trips. The road trips might be a mere winter weekend getaway or perhaps a longer trip to stay with family or friends. But, either way, AAA says you need to make sure you and your car are ready to go.
AAA says you need to several things before you set out on your trip. Among them is road safety. By road safety, AAA is talking in part about the condition of your vehicle.
“Before heading out on the road, you’ll want to make sure your vehicle is in good shape. Get your oil changed, make sure there’s air in your tires, and ensure your battery is still going strong,” AAA says. “You never know when you’ll need roadside assistance. Whether you’re traveling to a town nearby or a more remote location, make sure at least one person you’re traveling with knows how to change a tire. Also, consider bringing a spare key!”
Even if you decide to stay in town, it makes sense to have a trusted mechanic give your car a once over. It’s no fun to break down anywhere and, with crowds and holidays, businesses are stacked up and closed. So it makes sense to be sure your car will make it through the holidays.
