The great majority of those travelers – 49.3 million – are expected to travel on the roadways. That’s the most since 2005 and 2.8 percent more than last year.
The bad news is that, for more than 368,000 of those motorists, the weekend will be filled with the frustration of a broken down car. That’s how many people are expected to call AAA for assistance from the roadside this Thanksgiving holiday. Dead batteries, flat tires and lockouts will be the leading reasons AAA members will experience car trouble.
